Course Program Profile
The DHBW Mannheim is split up between two major fields of study:
- the Business faculty with 19 diverse fields of study and degree programs and
- the Engineering faculty offering seven degree programs.
The two departments incorporate the topics of media, business, business informatics, computer science, information technology and engineering.
The dual degree program rotates on three month intervals, three months at the respective company and three months at the university. The regular change of location requires the students to be flexible and able to be highly engaged with individual study sections.
The Bachelor degree programs at the DHBW Mannheim are recognized as intensive study programs.
For this reason, the Central Evaluation and Accreditation Agency (ZeVA) Hannover raised its credit points from 180 to 210 ECTS points, showing that the practical phases are optimally integrated into the curriculum.
Regular workshops in cooperation with all partner companies serve the optimization and quality assurance in every academic area.
Students from different companies, public and social institutes come together during their study periods at the DHBW Mannheim, work together in teams and implement joint projects, resulting in networks that benefit students even after they graduate
Not only are the students and the graduates well connected, but also the DHBW Mannheim is perfectly integrated in the diverse higher education environment of the Rhine Neckar metropolitan region.
The DHBW Mannheim cooperates with the Federal Academy for Defense Administration and Technology Mannheim, Mannheim University and the College of Applied Sciences Ludwigshafen as partners with the Graduate School Rhine Neckar to offer advanced Master's degree programs.
The DHBW Mannheim has been awarded with the 'Basic Certification Audit Family Friendly University' since 2009.
Building on existing measures to increase the compatability of family and studying, or rather jobs for students and academics, the topic 'family friendly university' should be pushed more than ever before.
